I'm not talking about one song from an album. I'm talking about an entire album. That one album that you believe is the best album ever written. From front to back, cover to cover, has the best lyrics, rhythm, harmony - everything. The one album that if you could only preserve that one album to show as the compilation of all music ever in the history of mankind, this album would be it.

My choice: Rubber Soul, by The Beatles.

Your choices?

I used to be able to answer this no problem. It used to be "Versus God" by Dillinger Four. But then it became "Turn On The Bright Lights" by Interpol. Now I'm not sure if it's "Of Natural History" by Sleepytime Gorilla Museum or "Fancy" by Idiot Flesh.

I will go with "Of Natural History", however. As the topics deal greatly with how much humanity is worth after everything is over.

I can't decide on one so i'll just pick out a few (or a lot) while scrolling through my library;

Black Sabbath - Sabotage
Bob Marley & the Wailers - Natty Dread
Canibus - Rip the Jacker
Deep Purple - Machine Head
Dio - The Last In Line
GZA - Liquid Swords
Ill Bill - The Hour of Reprisal
Immortal Technique - Revolutionary vol. II
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
Jedi Mind Tricks - Servants In Heaven, Kings In Hell
Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny
Killah Priest - Heavy Mental
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
Megadeth - Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Motörhead - Ace of Spades
Nas - Illmatic
Necro - The Pre-fix for Death
Non Phixion - The Future is Now
Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
Queen - A Night At the Opera
Queen - Sheer Heart Attack
Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
Royce Da 5'9" - Death is Certain
Run-D.M.C. - Run-D.M.C.
Sabac - Sabacolypse (A Change 'gon Come)
Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
Sunz of Man - The Last Shall Be First
Talib Kweli - The Beautiful Struggle
Testament - The New Order
The Who - My Generation
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

I would've put Jean-Michel Jarre's Images album on there, but it's a compilation of his work, so not what I really class as an album.

Michael Jackson - Thriller
Yes - Fragile
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Prince - Sign o The Times
Rush - Permanent Waves
Queen - A Night At The Opera
Symphony X - Divine Wings Of Tragedy
The Cure - Disintergration

Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Alice In Chains - Dirt
Steely Dan - Aja
I'll post more later

I was going to go with Dark Side of the Moon, but I've decided on From a Basement on the Hill by Elliott Smith.

Depends on the style because I would rather name a few than just one.

Pantera - Cowboys From Hell
Pink Floyd - (could be both of these) Dark Side of the moon + The Wall
Queen
Van Halen 1-4th album
The Beatles (hard to even pick just one)
Jimi Hendrix (hard to pick just one)
various Motown artists (Smokey Robinson, James Brown, The Temptations and many others)
King brothers and many other blues artists
Led Zepplin 1-4 album
Early Black Sabbath
(these are more my classic pics than current stuff I listen to, but I still listen to this stuff often also)

I listen to a lot of stuff though, it depends on the mood.

I will always return to the Crow Soundtrack. Most of the tracks are originals, and can't be found elsewhere, and for my money it has the best Cure song, period. Even the RAtM song is decent, the Rollins Band did Ghost Rider, and the others are simply classic. Really, really well rounded collection and not just as a depiction of a movie, but as a generation and culture as well.

No doubt. Sucks how hard it is to find CD's with Rollins doing vocals instead of Daz Cadena.

Seeing as nobody else mentioned them yet:

Opeth - Still Life
Pierre Bensusan - Intuite
Grim Fandango OST
The Beta Band - Heros to Zeros

Could spin those discs forever.
