Well it is my birthday soon and I want I plan on getting a laptop cause my current one is shit, it looks like it has been burned and occasionally freezes if you try and look at the internet and play music at the same time.
    - My budget is £500-550 pounds
Has to be available in the UK
    - Preferable XP but don't mind Vista
    - With a some kind of graphics card (not a 64mb integrated chip as my penis could render better graphics on to my ball sack)
    - 2GB RAM or more (preferable 3GB)
    - Preferable widescreen
    - Some kind of good processor, however I have no idea what is good any more due to the stupidly fast moving tech industry.
    - 100GB+ HDD
    - Preferable with a PCMCIA port (or good sound card built in)
FIND FIND.

Your prize is that I tell you about an awesome game that you probably won't have played, but is awesome.

Type all of that in, and you will need more money. You would have to go Vista with what you want. Unless you build it yourself, which is more expensive.

Just don't baffle me with Tech Specs - GOOD or SHIT will do, I only use it for the net anyway.

They look Ok, what is the deal with the processors, they all used to be logically named, now they just seem to be randomly named.

I was thinking either:
This one
Or this one

They are different in certain ways, both are pretty much what I want just with different features.

Any other suggestions?

Got a Dell Studio 15 in the end for £549

Processor: Core 2 Duo T6400 2.0Ghz 1MB 800mhz
RAM: 4GB
GPU: ATI Radeon mobility HD 4570
OS: Windows Vista 64bit
320GB 5200RPM SATA HDD
2.0 Megapixel webcam

And various other stuff that isn't really important.

(The amount of moronic comments in this topic is astronomical, the only person who actually said anything useful was Indy and me and by that definition I am talking to myself)

Yeah I was going to suggest Dell, they have really good technical support too, but I wasn't sure how you felt about buying from them. Hope you took out the extended warranty.
